This sculpture was created from a solid piece of Cascade Granite. The piece is just over 6-feet long and 30-inches at the knee. It is presently on sale at Arista Winery in Santa Rosa, Ca.

2007 Northwest Flower and Garden Show

Photos are from the Flower and Garden Show in Seattle. The sculptures here are carved out of a large granite boulder and polished, leaving a contrast impression of a male and female figures. They are currently for sale at the Falling Water Garden Nursery in Monroe, WA.

Basalt Outdoor Garden Sculpture

This sculpture is carved out of basalt, and is a large outdoor display. This is a complementary piece to the water fountain installation.

Yellow Limestone Abstract Sculpture

This sculpture was inspired by a natural formation collected off the beach in Washington state. This sculpture is currently on display at the studio in Redmond, Wa. It is carved from a 200 pound piece of yellow limestone. The piece is approximately 18-inches by 11-inches, weighing approximately 85 pounds.

Basalt Pillar

This sculpture is a polished basalt flake collected from eastern Washington State. This piece and it’s base (also of basalt) are approximately 20-inches by 10-inches and combined weight of approximately 50 pounds. It is currenly on display at the studio in Redmond, WA.

Lightening Marble

This sculpture is composed of lightning marble collected from British Columbia. Black marble tends to be some of the hardest and most dense materials to carve, and this piece is no exception. However, it is from this aspect that makes for a beautiful polish. This piece is approximately 16-inches by 9-inces by 10-inches, and weighs over 80 pounds, and is currently on display at the studio in Redmond, WA.

Public Art Display in Burien

The site developer asked me to create an idea for the corner of this commercial development in Burien, WA. The proposed site was adjacent to a public transportation transfer station. The immediate area was utilized by the waiting public. The concept was to create durable art that reflected the area. So Mr. Dunton carved windows into seven basalt columns which revealed the people within the columns as though also waiting for the transportation. There men in suits, a child running, an older woman with a scarf, as well as a younger woman in a dress, all only partially revealed. This commision was completed in 2007-2008.
